How is it Funded?

Mental Health Skill Building Services (MHSS) Criteria

- Ages 21-older
- DSM Axis 1 Diagnosis
-  Prescribed Psychotropic Medication
-  Need Assistance with Daily Living Skills

Who Would Benefit?

Do you have a client or family member that has been diagnosed with a mental health diagnosis and struggles with day-to-day functioning? They have difficulty maintaining their living arrangement, taking their prescribed medication, or accessing resources within the community? If so, then our mental health skill building program is the program you are looking for.

What are the Goals?

Once the individual is enrolled in the mental health skill building program, the individual will work closely with the Mental Health Skill Building Clinician.  The Mental Health Skill Building Clinician will work with the individual on the following goals: 

  • Developing organization skills 

  • Money management skills 

  • Problem-solving skills 

  • Communication skills 

  • Coping skills

  • Education on diagnoses.

Mental Health Skill building services is covered by most private and Medicaid insurance.  Individuals also have the options of self-pay, and a sliding scale can be provided for clients who choose this option. Currently, JRSS accepts Magellan and Virginia Premier insurance and self-pay options.
